Facey Cup Series is governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020 by USSA as amended in our own racing instructions. Races are open to all OYC members. There is a spring and fall series.

Race Instructions
The Spring Series begins the first Tuesday in May and for the next 7 consecutive Tuesdays (skipping the week of the Biggs Golf tournament.) The Fall Series begins the first Tuesday in September and for the next 7 consecutive Tuesdays. Boats leave the dock at 1300 and races start at 1400.

Principal Race Officer Responsibilities
Registration form and fee are due ten days before the first scheduled race in May. If your boat does not have a PHRF rating, contact race chairman.

Principal Race Officer Responsibilities
The PRO oversees equipment, the Mark Boat, and Race Committee. They set the race course and start line, registers racing boats, directs the start sequence, and ensure accurate recording of finish times. A Race Committee Report Form is filed for each race.

Mark Boat Responsibilities
Under direction of the PRO, the Mark Boat places the start pin and windward, gybe, and leeward marks. The boat remains on stand-by during the race and returns all equipment to the OYC shed.
