Educational Programs

Experienced sailing instructors, all members of the Osprey yacht Club, teach students on Optimist dinghies, the only sailboat designed specifically for children, allowing them to have fun learning the essentials of sailing in a safe and controlled environment.

Youth learn to sail a Sunfish is for students who have completed the Optimist Class or who have previous sailing experience.

Programs include classroom instruction and on-the-water training. On-the-water training may include utilizing our sunfish fleet and owner-captained sailboats.   

 Educational programs, usually with food and drink included, half- and all-day seminars, and classes on boating safety, maintenance, local knowledge, racing, and cruising are sponsored by our club.
